Join the Bettendorf Public Library on April 15, 2027, for the Speakers Bureau presentation “Andrew Carnegie’s Riches in Iowa” by Dr. Shana Stuart.

This program, led by the director of the Carnegie Libraries in Iowa project, explores the unique features of the acquisition of Carnegie funding by communities in Iowa. Factors that impacted their efforts included personal connections with Carnegie and the choice of architectural styles. The history and experiences of a community are also examined within the broader context of Iowa’s interest in building public libraries.
