Join the Union Public Library on March 15 for the Speakers Bureau program “Sacred Iowa: Spiritual Sites in the Heartland” by author Lori Erickson.

Iowa has a surprisingly rich sacred landscape, from historic churches and monasteries to Indigenous sites, religious communities, cemeteries, shrines, and places in nature that invite reflection. Drawing on travel stories, history, and photographs, this program explores some of Iowa’s most fascinating spiritual places—and asks what makes a place sacred in the first place.
