What does it mean to find where you belong—and to stay true to yourself along the way? Join us at the Grand Junction Public Library for an Open Book program featuring Darcy Maulsby and Seso Marentes, who will each share a personal chapter of their lives and invite you to reflect on the experiences that have shaped your own identity and path.

Fifth-generation farmer and Iowa storyteller Darcy Maulsby will share lessons from growing up during the Farm Crisis, leaving rural Iowa and eventually finding her way back home. Through stories from life on the farm, she explores stepping beyond your comfort zone, putting down roots and using your talents to help others flourish.

Award-winning artist and community builder Seso Marentes will share his journey of overcoming challenges, finding his voice and staying true to his values as an artist. His story explores the courage it can take to choose your own path, especially when doing so means stepping away from expectations and embracing a different vision for your life.
