The Corning Opera House will welcome historian Chad Timm on April 3, 2026, for a presentation on Iowa’s little-known World War II prisoner of war camps. Chad Timm explores life in the camps at Algona and Clarinda, the labor POWs provided to local farmers, and the complex relationships between prisoners and communities. This program sheds light on a surprising chapter of Iowa’s wartime history and the humanity found amid conflict.
