Treasurer

This is Steve’s second term on the Humanities Iowa board. He has degrees from Grinnell College, University of Kansas, and University of California at Berkeley. He also worked as a social worker and as a union representative. He served 20 years on the Wapello County Board of Supervisors. While there, he was a major in the construction and operation of the American Gothic Welcome Center in Eldon, Iowa. He currently serves as Chair of its board. 

His primary interests are Iowa history, film and music, especially old blues and early rock. He owns over 5,000 vinyl LP records. He also enjoys the construction of trails and he loves to ride his bicycle. He biked on eight RAGBRAIs, including biking the entire route in 2017.
